Eliminate any potential distractions – phone, alarms, doorbells, etc and quieten your mind to induce a state of deep relaxation.

So the outcome that you are aiming for is a relaxed mind within a relaxed body. So you need to shut down the external distractions and then work on the internal distractions. you have already started to eliminate the external distractions by moving to a quiet place. Now you need to get comfortable. It doesn’t matter whether you are sitting in your favourite chair, lying in a bed or perched on the floor in the lotus position – just be comfortable. Then you need to breathe. Breathe properly. Breathe rhythmically from your diagphragm and not your chest. Once your are comfortable and breathing deeply, relax each muscle group in turn, to help induce a state of deep, physical relaxation. Then you need to work on turning down the volume of chatter in your mind and eventually press the mute button. If you were to just practice this for 5 minutes out of the 1440 you have in the day, you will get better and learn how to rid anxiety and panic from your life.

It is likely that you will stumble a little on your first few attempts. Anything new often takes a little practice to perfect. Just stick with the programme and within a few weeks you will be able to turn your anxiety levels on and off as you will and determine.
