Making Efforts To Hopefully Stop The Anxiety Attacks
Are you totally fed up with having panic attacks? Do you want to know how to stop a panic attack? I used to fear having these attacks from the first moment I woke up. I was at my wits end. My heart would throb and I was sweating uncontrollably. Was I having some kind of heart attack? I would even loose the feeling in my extremities.
It helps to learn a few simple methods for minimizing the excessive response happening within your body. We just need some starting points. These are three tools you can use to help bring your number of panic attacks down over time. Give them a try and see if they work for you.
Breathing ” Get control over your breath and you will soon be able to stop a panic attack in its tracks. Controlling your breath is essential to dialing down your panic attacks. Mastering your breath is essential to getting a hold on your panic attacks. Using breathing you can calm yourself in as little as five minutes. Negative thoughts begin to flood your mind during a panic attack. You can regain focus by breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth. Panic attacks tend to originate with breathing, so that’s where you must go to stop them.
A second and equally useful tool to combat panic attacks is developing the habit of stretching. Stretching helps to release more of those built up stress hormones so they pass out of you. You can even try to remember to do a nice stretch and breathing combination whenever you feel an attack coming on. Try to head it off by interrupting it with a deep breath, a good stretch and a clear mind.
Gratitude – When you approach life with a positive mental attitude on a regular basis, you’ll find that panic attacks simply start to go away. Wake up each morning and think of everything in your life you are grateful for, even if you’re thankful for something as basic as being able to see or read. No matter what is happening in your life, there is always something to be thankful for. This will begin to condition your brain to focusing on the brighter side of things. When you have more upbeat thoughts, the panic attacks just seem to stop coming.
This type of disorder is one of those things that we must take a personal role in. It is up to us as sufferers, to take whatever steps we can to reduce our symptoms. Then with the help of a doctor, hopefully we can rid ourselves of these things permanently.
