Symptoms Of An Anxiety Attack

You may recall the times you needed to speak in public and felt unwell. You may feel a bit anxious even now just thinking about it. Did you feel nauseous, weak-kneed, and shaky? These are all common anxiety attack symptoms. Perhaps you began to perspire copiously or forgot your whole presentation and felt like you had to escape. That gives you a pretty good idea of what it is like to have an anxiety attack.

The majority of people will have something happen that can lead to anxiety attack symptoms. A person’s relatively normal apprehension about public speaking may increase to the point where he experiences anxiety attack symptoms whenever he must speak in public. This may lead to him having similar symptoms when speaking is involved in any situation, from business phone calls, to speaking in small groups or talking with coworkers. This escalation of symptoms may have a serious impact on his career.

If someone experiences anxiety problems related to their career, it’s possible that those will begin on the way to work. This may cause the person to try and avoid any driving, as well as experiencing anxiety attack symptoms in situations when they are asked casually about work, which could cause a withdrawal from any social interaction.

Anxiety attack symptoms vary in both frequency and intensity from person to person. For example, a person seeing a spider may start shaking or wailing or showing other symptoms rather than just having an internal feeling of panic. Anxiety attacks are experienced by nearly everyone under different circumstances.

For some, anxiety attack symptoms will only arise when faced with an item that they don’t like. It could be things like spiders, climbing a ladder, or public speaking. There are even some people who will get similar anxiety attack symptoms if they are shown a book or magazine that includes pictures of spiders in books, videos, or movies, or even just listening to another individual tell a story about a spider.

Patients who go through an intense, heightened level of anxiety report that the number and types of things that can set off anxiety attack symptoms seem to spiral out of control. One thing sets off another, like a chain reaction of anxiety.

A serious anxiety problem will occur easily in almost anyone who allows an anxiety trigger to snowball. There is help available from a counselor or doctor, though. Anxiety attack symptoms are something that happens often, and effective treatment is available. There’s no reason to suffer through it on your own.
