Why Are We So Stressed Out?

Today’s society is teeming with stress. There is hardly anyone who has never experienced any long-term stressful situation. However, the real causes often remained undiagnosed and even if we managed to get rid of the stress from our lives, it was often done using “hit-or-miss” approach rather than anything else. While some causes of stress are relatively popular, many remain hidden even though they are still quite common. Here they are:

Sadly, the most popular reason of stress-induced problems is that we are often tired. If we work a lot and don’t get enough sleep, soon we will start to be annoyed even by the most trivial problems. And this is the shortest way possible to starting feeling stressed.

Another category of stress-inducers are those causes that are related to one’s job. First (and most common) cause of stress is working too long to be able to spend enough time with one’s family. Another popular problem is a boss who is a way too demanding or gets furious for small or no reason. Finally, there are traffic jams on one’s way to work. If you feel that you should spend more time with your family, get depressed because of your boss or experience road rage, your stress problems are related to your work.

The lack of job may cause even more problems than having problems at the office. People who are sacked will often feel angry or sad – and such feelings are known to induce stress. A few days without anything to do may be fine – a few weeks may easily get disastrous.

One of the more common causes of stress is money (or, to be exact, lack of it). When you start worrying about money instead of working on improving your financial situation, you are only a single step from depression. What is worse, this may also cause relationship problems that may end in separation or even divorce.

The last common cause of stress is having problems with one’s family or at least with one of the family members. The only way get rid of it is confrontation: meet the source of your problems and talk everything out. This can take some time and be extremely painful short-term, but it is the only way of freeing yourself of this powerful stress-inducer.
