Can The Law of Attraction And Meridian Tapping Heal Depression?
Depression can be a serious medical illness, and as such, if you are depressed you should always seek appropriate levels of medical and mental health counseling. You may also want to incorporate Law of Attraction principles along with meridian tapping into your road to recovery from depression.
The easiest way to battle depressing thoughts when they first occur is to use a time-tested Law of Attraction exercise – gratitude lists. Even when you are horribly depressed you’ll be able to easily find something that is actually going well. This exercise takes no more than a few minutes of focusing powerfully on that one thing that is going well in your life right now. Perhaps it’s something as simple as “I’m grateful I got to work on time even though there was a lot of traffic.” At the top of a piece of paper write “Ten Things I am Grateful for Today,” then fill in the blank: “I am happy that_________.” Once you find one thing that’s going well, find another, then another. Soon you’ll have a list of ten things that are in your life right now that you’re grateful for.
Do a list every day for a few days in a row, always keeping your mind searching for evidence that there is more happening in your life than this rock bottom depression. It is tempting to simply sink into the cycle of “I’m depressed, nothing’s working, no one can help me.” Of course the Law of Attraction states that what you think about you bring about, so by thinking these negative thoughts you will only keep the cycle going. Another gratitude list exercise is to thank God or the universe for bringing you the solution to your problem as if you already have the solution at hand. If you’re feeling down a simple one is “Thank you universe for bringing me a better mood today.” If you’re having an interpersonal problem you might say “Thank you God for bringing me a peaceful resolution to this issue.” This list is basically an adaptation of the “acting as if” exercise, and it’s effects to lift your spirits are powerful indeed.
You have a low vibration due to the depression; don’t focus on it. Instead, spend several minutes each day concentrating on the positive parts of your life. Bring them into your active consciousness purposefully. This focus could be on a pet that makes you happy or the satisfaction you get from using the computer, or the smell of a freshly brewed cup of coffee. What makes you feel good? Focus on that. You simply need to move your attention to something that is better than the feelings of depression. Do your best to get out of bed and move around your home a bit. Write lists as a way to begin this exercise.
You can also do meridian tapping to alleviate depression. Sometimes depression can be a symptom of blocked energy channels, and sometimes depressing thoughts are based on long-held emotional baggage, so practicing EFT or other kinds of meridian tapping will likely have a lasting effect. Be careful, though, to get specific with your depression when you do meridian tapping. Saying “I’m depressed” is a vague idea that would be a more powerful phrase if it were more specific. To get specific with your depression, ask yourself where you feel it. If you feel fuzzy in your head then start there. You can say “Even though I’m feeling fuzzy in my head, I accept myself anyway.” By pinpointing your personal expression of depression you can reach into your brain and make changes to your energetic system efficiently and effectively.
Start the tapping on the eyebrow, and say, “What if I could feel better in an hour?” Don’t force it; just give it the possibility. Then tap on the side of the eye and say, “What if I could feel just a little bit better by tomorrow?” It’s a way to unhook yourself from the 24/7 feeling of depression.
Meridian tapping techniques like EFT are useful for all ailments, from depression to the common cold. Meridian tapping is cleaning out the body’s energy system, allowing energy to circulate freely and for new, healing energy to come into your system. Simply take each symptom of your illness and focus on it in a round of EFT. Also note the emotions you feel about the symptoms, and tap those out as well. For instance, you may be frustrated at your allergies because it’s hard to focus at your job. Say “Even though my nose is stuffed and my head is groggy, I love and accept myself anyway.”
Depression can be caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. It can also be caused by a negative emotional focus. Or, it can be a combination of both. Some people have an imbalance and some have emotional issues while others have a combination of both. Consult a mental health professional or medical doctor to have your serotonin levels checked. Be active in your role as an advocate for your body and spirit. Then you will be able to combat the things that keep you from feeling well.
